Cheryl Warburton

I am the owner of CW Hats and Accessories a small independent shop in the heart of the market town Dorchester in Dorset. I started my design career at college doing design and textiles and have done all sorts of crafts through my life including my nan teaching me how to patchwork. I have been making hats and fascinators since 2017 where I owned a craft shop and rented shelf space and people kept asking if I did headpieces. I though how hard can it be, so I did a few you tube videos and basicly fudged it, I sold £3000 worth of headpieces in my first year but I look back now and think how awful they were! Since then I have been lucky enough to be taught by some amazing milliners . I am now an award winning milliner winning Corporate Live Wire's, Southwest England Prestige Awards "Hat Boutique of the year award in 2021". I decided to use my millinery skills to open a shop and to teach others how to make their own fabulous headpieces that you can be proud of through CW Millinery Courses. I love hats and love my job spending all day making headpieces for my customers and can not wait to be able to teach you how to make your own headpieces and maybe headpieces for others.

I had the pleasure of taking Cheryl's millinery course for just over a year, and it was an incredible journey. Cheryl is not just a skilled tutor; she's remarkably patient and has a down-to-earth personality that makes learning a joy. The courses are perfectly timed and clear, the weekly meet-ups are fantastic for getting queries done and sharing your experiences with other members who are, by far, the most supportive people on the planet. With Cheryls courses, experience and guidance, I transformed my paid hobby into an established business. I'm grateful for Cheryl's expertise and support in helping me develop a passion into a successful venture.

Millinery is new to me but have always loved hats since childhood. My curiosity expanded from the Tuesday meetings that were on Facebook so in January I became a member of CW Millinery Courses. If I’m not sure about something, I can go back and replay. I always know for further questions I can email Cheryl for quick responses. The meetings on zoom are also so helpful for ideas from other members and direction and creativity from Cheryl. I’m grateful to be a part of such a wonderful and kind group. It’s a lot of fun!
